Prepare accurate App Store accessibility declarations before submission.

Explain What Your App Supports

Accessibility manages the App Store declarations that tell people which accessibility features your app supports. Someone who relies on VoiceOver or larger text can use that information when deciding whether your app is likely to work for them.

This screen records support; it doesn't add accessibility features to your app or test them for you. The most useful way to work through it is with your app running alongside Kickstart, checking each declaration against the real experience.

Work by Device Family

The overview shows declarations for each device family and a summary of feature coverage. Open an existing declaration, or use Add Declaration for a device family you haven't covered.

Inside the editor, features are grouped into categories and include explanations of what you're declaring. Read those descriptions, then pick the features your app supports on that device.

Don't assume that an improvement on iPhone also fixes the Mac experience. Each declaration should describe the version people will actually use.

Save a Draft, Then Publish

When you change a published declaration, Kickstart prepares a draft. Saving that draft lets you finish the work without immediately changing the published accessibility labels.

When you're ready, use Publish from the main screen to publish the saved drafts. The existing published settings remain active until you publish your changes. Keep an eye on the state shown for each declaration so you know which information is still a draft.

Available actions depend on that state. For example, drafts can be deleted, while other declarations may offer a view or edit action.

Use Gaps to Plan the Work

If you find that a key screen doesn't play nicely with a feature you wanted to declare, make a task for the implementation work and come back once it's done. The coverage summary helps you see what's missing, but the goal is a usable app, not a perfect-looking number.

Look over the declarations again when you improve accessibility or make big changes to the interface. They should keep pace with the app you're shipping.
