Glossary Price parity

What is price parity for apps?

Price parity means setting your app's price per country according to local purchasing power, so it feels similarly affordable everywhere. This is quite different from what most developers do, which is letting exchange rates make their apps a luxury in some markets and suspiciously cheap in others.

Reference indices make it practical: what Netflix, Spotify, or The Economist's Big Mac cost in each country, normalized against the US, gives a factor to scale your own price by. App Store Connect supports custom prices per territory, so parity is entirely implementable – most developers just never do it.

Kickstart compares every current App Store price with your chosen parity index, selects the nearest local price tier, and can publish all the changes after you review them.
