Glossary Van Westendorp Price Sensitivity

What is the Van Westendorp pricing method?

The Van Westendorp Price Sensitivity Meter is a survey technique that finds acceptable pricing by asking four questions: at what price would this be so cheap you'd doubt its quality, a bargain, getting expensive, and too expensive to consider?

Plotting the four answer curves reveals a range bounded by the point of marginal cheapness and the point of marginal expensiveness, with the indifference price in between. For app developers it's a practical antidote to pricing by vibes, because a few dozen honest responses beat any amount of internal debate.

Kickstart includes a complete Van Westendorp survey workflow: collect the four answers, plot the curves, and turn real customer responses into a defensible price range.
