What are App Store proceeds?

Proceeds are your share of App Store revenue: the customer price minus applicable taxes and Apple's commission. The commission is 30% by default, or 15% for members of the App Store Small Business Program and for subscriptions retained beyond one year.

The distinction matters whenever you read revenue numbers: "sales" usually means customer spend, while proceeds are what actually reaches your bank account.
